BASW has issued refreshed standards to promote the development, and awareness, of Professional Standards in Social Work Education within the social work profession and with people with lived experience of social work. It is hoped that this document will be used to promote the Practice Educator Professional Standards (PEPS) and lead to a wider understanding of the role of the practice educator (PE) by students, employers and anyone involved in practice education.
To introduce these changes and explain the implications for their Practice Education courses, Kingston University invites Practice Educators, Practice Assessors, Onsite Supervisors and Workforce Development from their placement providers, as well as social work and PEPS students, to a PEPS Relaunch Event. Independent Practice Educators supporting a Kingston University student are also welcome to attend.
