Wellbeing
Introduction
Social work is a challenging profession. Here at the South West London and Surrey Teaching Partnership we are committed to ensuring our region has a highly skilled and confident social work workforce, able to meet the diverse challenges of frontline practice with children and adults. We also aim to work across our partnership to support social work students to build resilience and develop strategies that will help them manage their emotional wellbeing throughout their career.
The Emotional Resilience and Wellbeing in Social Work Conference that was held in March 2019 saw the launch of our commitment to the wellbeing of social workers and this wellbeing hub is one way of us delivering on this. We continue to hold an annual wellbeing conference each year, please see our CPD brochure for dates and more information. Please use this wellbeing hub to seek out support for yourself on the ‘Support for me’ pages and also take a look at the ‘Support for my team’ option if you are a manager.
We are keen to hear from partners about what you are doing in your workplace to support your own and each others’ wellbeing and aim to make this a ‘living’ hub adding new information and providing updates on wellbeing.
As part of this project we have developed a #wellbeingwednesday initiative on twitter where we share self care tips each week. Please get involved and explore how you can use #wellbeingwednesday to promote wellbeing in your workplace.
