Developing Together Social Work Teaching Partnership

Team Manager – Children in Care Team

Advert Text

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Team Manager for one of our Children in Care Teams!

‘Teamwork’, ‘Supportive’, ‘Encouraging’, ‘Positive’, ‘Friendly’ and ‘Family’

These are just some of the words our staff have used to describe what it feels like to work in the Corporate Parenting Service in Merton! We work with the ethos that in order to deliver an Outstanding service to our children and young people, we need to invest in the outstanding people who work here. As one staff member said ‘we look after each other so that we can look after the children and young people we serve’.

We work together to ensure our children and young people are given the opportunities they need to thrive. But don’t take our word for it! In 2022 we conducted a survey with our children in care, a high proportion of our children aged 4-18 said that they trusted their social workers, over 90% said they felt happy and felt that the things they did were worthwhile. One of our children even said, when asked what could be better for them, ‘nothing, because everything in care is already better for me’.

You will need to be a qualified social worker with relevant experience working with children who are looked after. Having experience in delivering safeguarding services with an interest in expanding your learning and development into looked after and leaving care services will be considered for those with management experience.

If you and enthusiastic and passionate about making a difference, come and work for us where, as one staff member put it ‘we are very much a family’.
